As a Diocesan school St Bernard’s participates in the ‘Sacramental Programme’ each year. Parents of year 3 children are invited by the Parish Family to present their children at the beginning of the school year. During the year the Sacraments of Reconciliation, and Eucharist will be celebrated.
The programme begins with you enrolling your child and presenting them at Mass, in order for them to be part of the programme. During the course of the year a series of meetings, celebrations and masses will take place for you and your child.
A key element of the programme is that the home, school and parish work together to enable your child to grow in the understanding of faith and how to live it. Each part of the programme is important as it forms part of the child’s experience of God and stays with them for the rest of their lives. We try to make this a positive and worthwhile experience and want parents to play a full and active role in their child’s preparation.
You will be informed regularly about times and dates of meetings, masses and celebrations.
The Wednesday Word is sent home from school every week and is an excellent resource to share Jesus’ stories through the Gospels.
