Year 3/4  – Maths

Over the first two weeks, we have been developing our mathematical understanding through practical and engaging activities. We have focused on strengthening our place value knowledge, reading and representing numbers, and understanding the value of each digit.

We have used a range of representations and mathematical equipment to help us explain our thinking and make connections between different numbers. We have also been developing our fluency through regular practice and applying our knowledge to problem-solving and reasoning challenges.

It has been wonderful to see the children building confidence, explaining their methods and embracing the challenge of becoming resilient mathematicians!

English- Leon and the Place Between

This week, we continued our magical journey through Leon and the Place Between, following Leon as he bravely enters a mysterious world beyond the circus.

We explored Leon’s character, developed our own dialogue and experimented with descriptive writing to bring magical settings to life. We also went on a magical treasure hunt, collecting clues and ideas to inspire fantastical lands of our own.

We are now ready to use our imaginations to create our own magical versions of the story, filled with mystery, wonder and adventure!
