This week was WORDS MATTER WEEK at St. Bernard’s and so we began by thinking about the influence of peers and social media on how children speak. We then read a book called ‘Teach Your Dragon Respect’ which reinforced the importance of good manners and polite behaviour through the main character and his pet dragon named Digory Doo. The children focused on one emotion and wrote their own verse to tell how they should use words well to express their emotion. Here is a sample of their work...
As we reach the end of the year, it was time to count up our house points to reveal which team had won. It was very tense and only a few points in it, but Blue Team won and were able to enjoy their chosen treat of waffles with nutella spread. Bernie even joined in...
