Week beginning 15th June 2026
As we continue reading 'The Boy who grew Dragons' we learned how to write a set of instructions, focusing on fronted adverbials and imperative verbs. We created a range of silly and sensible instructions in a class activity, analysed different instructions to see how effective/accurate they were, then wrote and acted out our own instructions on how to care for a new baby dragon. Bernie had fun following some instructions on how to feed doughnuts to one, but I'm not sure how much attention he paid to detail - although our dragon didn't seem to mind!
For Water Safety Week, the children had to bring a pair of pyjamas to the lesson and every child earned a well-deserved certificate at the end... Well done Year 4!
