We've all been very busy practising our times tables this week, in preparation for the upcoming multiplication check which will take place in the first week back in June. As well as completing some timed tests on the whiteboard, we've also been competing on Times Tables Rockstars...

In our English lesson, we looked at the 'Show don't tell' creative writing technique where authors use actions, body language, facial expressions and dialogue to describe a character's emotions instead of explicitly stating how they feel eg. her face turned red, she gritted her teeth and clenched her fists is much better than saying she was angry. To consolidate their understanding, the children worked with a partner to play a game in which they had to act out a variety of emotions for the other person to guess...
