Well, what a heatwave we've had this week (30+ degrees in June is unheard of!) ... The children have been learning how to keep themselves safe in the sun by drinking plenty of water, regularly applying suncream, wearing a hat and sunglasses outdoors and best of all, regular ice pops and ice lollies while spending time in the shade in our forest area...
In English, we've begun working on our next persuasive leaflets to tie in with our geography unit on 'The Mediterranean.' The children were asked to choose a Mediterranean country which they needed to research and persuade me to book my next holiday there. So even though we've had plenty of sun already, I'm looking forward to seeing where I should visit next...
Bernie has been paying special attention in our maths lessons, and now feels confident telling the time on both an analogue and digital (24 hour) clock... After such a hot week, he was very pleased when it turned 3.20pm on Friday, so he could head home for the weekend!
