Welcome
St Bernard’s R.C. Primary School is a warm, friendly and nurturing environment, underpinned by a strong Catholic ethos and high aspirations for all. Our vision is to help every child achieve their full potential, equipped with the tools for lifelong learning and future success.
With a team of outstanding teachers and support staff, we give every child the opportunity to grow, learn and be challenged. Our Christian faith permeates all aspects of school life, supporting the spiritual and moral development of children alongside their academic achievements.
With our holistic and inclusive approach, we celebrate the uniqueness of every individual, giving pupils the motivation, skills and confidence to fulfil their aspirations both within and beyond the school gates.

Believe, Grow, Succeed.
Our Catholic faith provides all of us with the foundation to experience school life as ambassadors for Christ, fulfilling the mission of the Catholic church whilst embracing our brothers and sisters from all the other faiths living in the vibrant community of St Bernard.
Our patron saint, St Bernard, teaches us to pray, to work hard and to devote our lives to others and our children know this to be 'The St Bernard's Way'. Through what we believe, we show our intent to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to make a positive contribution to the world around us. We grow together in our faith as the implementation of our rich and varied curriculum provides the opportunity to learn and discover in many different ways. Our children want to succeed and are always encouraged to see the impact, big and small, of the efforts that they make, both in the classroom, in their play times and in the wider community.
A Joyful Aspirational Community Rooted in Faith.
Liturgical Prayer plays an important role in our school and the children are encouraged to pray each day, seeing Jesus as their friend and comforter who can help and support them in all their challenges and triumphs. Through group prayer times we consider our joint mission here together at St Bernard's and children are also encouraged to pray individually to ask for guidance and to share their learning journey.
