History

In History, children have the opportunity to learn more about their own heritage and the history of the wider world. Pupils will gain a coherent, chronological understanding of the past and how it came to shape the present, exploring the impact of the Greco-Roman world on Britain, as well as Viking invasions and Anglo-Saxon society, all the way through to the Industrial Revolution.

Encouraging independent and exploratory learning, History gives pupils the freedom to ask questions, scrutinise evidence, and think critically about various arguments before constructing their own interpretations and analyses. Children will learn about continuity and change, cause and consequence, using these historical concepts to develop their understanding of the world and their place within it.
