Fun At The Beach
Mon 29 Jun 2026As you know, here at St Bernard’s, we know how to have fun and we definitely did just that today on our trip to St Ann’s beach. We sat in the lovely garden to enjoy our lunch and then headed for the sand for sand castles, volleyball and ice cream. We had magnificent behaviour from every class showing off The St Bernard’s Way to everyone we met. I think we’ll all sleep well tonight!

Our Holy Week Devotion
Tue 31 Mar 2026After a very busy term, in this final few days we have devoted all of our time to walking with Jesus through Holy Week. Whilst our older children have studied the work of Andrew Lloyd Webber pursuing the themes presented in Jesus Christ Supper Star, our younger children have been role playing Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem, His Last Supper and finally His Crucifixion. A beautiful week, a week to be proud of.

A Wonderful World Book Day!
Thu 05 Mar 2026We have had a fantastic day today celebrating the joy of poetry as part of World Book Day. All in our pyjamas, we have spent the day looking at different rhymes and verses from some of the great modern poets and authors such as Benjamin Zephania, Julia Donaldson and Michael Rosen. Early Years are chocolate cake, Y1/2 made Reading dens and Year 5 created a poster campaign promoting kindness in our community. A brilliant day - well done everyone!

Our Colleague, Our Teacher, Our Friend …..Ms Cummings ❤️
Tue 24 Feb 2026Today has been spent honouring our beautiful colleague and friend, Ms Cummings. With staff old and new coming together to remember this special lady who brought so much to the community of St Bernard’s, we have reflected on the joy and kindness that she always managed to spread. Our older children greeted the funeral procession with colourful ribbon wands whilst a number of the team attended her funeral with family and friends. We then gathered together in prayer and remembrance before completing different craft projects in Ms Cummings’ honour. Once parents and carers had come into school to see all the lovely craft work, the staff came together for a gluten free tea party and time to reminisce about the wonderful times we’ve all shared with her. A beautiful day for a beautiful lady. With all our love, rest in peace Sue …….and keep smiling on your St Bernard’s family 💐.

Children’s Mental Health Week
Fri 13 Feb 2026We have had a wonderful end to this half term celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week. Each class has read a brand new book that has helped them to think about their feelings, their worries and what we can all do to acknowledge the many emotions that we all experience. Every class listened to three specially selected songs as well and decided which one they felt they connected with the most. A brilliant job done by everyone!
