Our girls put in an amazing performance this evening in the final match of the Burnage Girls League. Playing our next door neighbours, Green End, they won 19-1 and showed brilliant team work, determination and commitment. This puts us in the final which takes place on Thursday 14th December at 3.30pm. Well done girls!!!!!

  • No Pens Day!

Wed 29 Nov 2023 Mrs Williams

Well, I have been around the school to check there are no pens being used and every class has passed the test! Our Early Years, Year 1 and 2 children were all singing beautifully in church practising their Nativity and just look at what our other classes were up to...

Ms Breeze and two of our Governors; Ms Jones and Ms Furey also visited our classes this morning to do their checks. It was good to see all our pencil pots had been put away from our tables and there was so much discussion and collaborative work happening .......maybe we will need to have more 'No Pens Days'!

  • No Pens Day!

    Tue 21 Nov 2023

Look out for a letter which will be sent via email tomorrow about our ‘No Pens Day’ which will be on Wednesday 29th November.

It will be a challenge.. a whole day relying on our language and communication skills and no recording or writing with our pens or pencils!
Children can bring in something from home that they are interested in to talk to their classes about. Let’s promote a whole day developing our language skills.

This day is supported by Speech and Language UK, anyone who would like to make a donation to this charity can follow the QR code or website link on the letter or posters around school.

  • Our Year 2 Football Team Visit The Etihad!

    Fri 17 Nov 2023 C. Breeze

Today, we spent a brilliant morning at The Etihad Stadium playing in the Year 2 tournament. Our children did a brilliant job - and for many of them, it was their very first time playing football against another team. They showed great team work, resilience and listened really well to Mr Shaw. Another very proud day at St Bernard’s!

Well done to all our odd sockers ……see if you can work out which staff these odd socks belong to.

  • St Bernard’s Welcome Bishop John Arnold for Reverend Luke’s Ordination.

    Sat 11 Nov 2023 C.Breeze

What an incredibly proud day we have spent today celebrating Reverend Luke’s Ordination - a spectacular event where God was with us in a very real way. The children who attended have made us so proud today; so many parishioners and special guests told us how beautifully mannered and welcoming our children were with our Bishop telling us they are a “credit to the school.” Absolutely! Enjoy the photos of this amazing occasion and thank you all those parents who took the time to bring their children to this important celebration.

  • Remembrance Day 2023

    Fri 10 Nov 2023 C. Breeze

Mrs Thorley’s class have led the school in a beautiful service of Remembrance in honour of all the brave people who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We remembered local heroes of Burnage and considered all those people who are still experiencing war and conflict across the world. A proud day for our school as we thought, we prayed …..we remembered.
