• More Amazing Maths!

  Did you know that this year we are part of a collaborative Maths Hub where schools work together to transform the teaching of Maths in the classroom and give children fantastic opportunities to solve mathematical problems and develop their mathematical language. Year 4 have been finding out about the power of the humble zero looking at all the amazing ways that it can change a number into something much bigger, depending on where it sits. Year 5 meanwhile have been tackling long division with ease and Reception have been finding lots of different ways to make five. Great job everyone!

  

• Fantastic Forest School

  Visitors are often amazed to find that at the back of our school playground we have an amazing and beautiful forest area, contained securely within our grounds, full of mini beasts and plants and opportunities for outdoor fun. We now have a wonderful qualified Forest School practitioner working with us from Fifth Movement who is providing weekly sessions for all of our younger children ….and they are loving every minute, as you can see!

  

• Sensational Sewing

  Our brilliant Year 3 class have turned their hand to sewing this week, practising a variety of stitches on their homemade cushions. Very skilful and thoughtful work from this very hardworking class. Well done!

  

• Sunflowers & Stormy Days

  As a fantastic finale to our Children’s Mental Health Week, our Reception class, along with Years 1, 2 & 3, enjoyed a brilliant performance of Sunflowers & Stormy Days provided by our good friends at Altru Drama. Our Reception parents got to watch with us and then Year 1 & 2 took part in a specially designed workshop aimed at helping younger children with their own mental health. A brilliant morning for everyone!

  

• Children’s Mental Health Day

  Today we celebrated Children’s Mental Health Day with a beautiful collection of therapeutic sessions. We all experienced sound therapy, yoga and peer massage and thought carefully about how we can recognise and manage our feelings and our reactions to others. A huge thank you to our partners at Fifth Movement for supporting us today ….thank you too to all our little friends in Inside Out.

  

• Fantastic Football!

  Our football success continues as we have shown off our skills at both The Etihad Stadium and The Cliff. Our mixed team and our girls team both enjoyed great success with our mixed team reaching the semi finals and our girls coming second in their very fast paced tournament. A huge thank you to Mr Shaw for all his expertise and …..look out for photos in March as we visit The Etihad with our younger children in Years 1 & 2.
