Our Year 4 Mathematicians Go Measuring!

In Year 4 the children have been using their knowledge of MILLI (1000 times smaller) and KILO (1000 times greater) to measure around school in lots of different ways. They then moved on to some further work in place value working with some pretty big numbers - a brilliant job Year 4!

Very exciting work this week from our little people as they have learned positional language. Through their very own obstacle course, they have learned how to go UNDER, OVER and THROUGH different areas and also had a little help from their Year 6 Buddies.

Did you know that our Stay and Play sessions are underway? Happening every Monday morning for Early Years and every Tuesday morning for Year 1&2, parents, grandparents and carers come to join us to take part in fun, play and learning with the staff and children. The children have had a great time this morning and all the staff, including our friends at Fifth Movement Sports Coaching, got stuck into lots of great activities alongside our little people. So lovely to have you all with us …..same again next week!

Everyone at St Bernard’s has made a beautiful job of honouring all the brave service men and women, throughout history, and in the present day, throughout this week. Through poetry, writing, prayers and pictures, we have ensured that the incredible sacrifice made by everyone through the ages will never be forgotten - all leading up to our very own Remembrance Day reflections. Year 4 Teach Early Years About Taking Care of Our Teeth

Our Year 4 scientists have been very busy planning and carrying out a fascinating experiment exploring the impact of different drinks on our teeth. Using eggs ……instead of teeth (which behave in the same way as teeth!) they have carried out scientific tests using a variety of popular drinks with very interesting results.
