  • Lest We Forget

    Everyone at St Bernard’s has made a beautiful job of honouring all the brave service men and women, throughout history, and in the present day, throughout this week. Through poetry, writing, prayers and pictures, we have ensured that the incredible sacrifice made by everyone through the ages will never be forgotten - all leading up to our very own Remembrance Day reflections. Well done to everyone - you have made us proud! 🌺

  • Year 4 Teach Early Years About Taking Care of Our Teeth

    Our Year 4 scientists have been very busy planning and carrying out a fascinating experiment exploring the impact of different drinks on our teeth. Using eggs ……instead of teeth (which behave in the same way as teeth!) they have carried out scientific tests using a variety of popular drinks with very interesting results. They made a visit to Early Years to share their work and encourage our little ones to get into good teeth brushing habits. Check out EY’s & Year 4’s class pages (top right) to find out more 🦷.

  • ‘Tis the Season For…..

    …….Pumpkins!!!!! After reading their class story ‘Pumpkin Soup’, Nursery & Reception have been busy carving pumpkins. Everyone had lots of fun looking inside and exploring the smells, colours and textures of their pumpkins - a perfect lesson for this time of year 🎃.

  • Do You Know Who Built Stonehenge……?

    ……Year 3 did!!!!! In their exciting History topic, they have learned all about Stonehenge and then used play dough to create their very own version of this ancient landmark. A brilliant job Year 3!

  • Around the World in One Half Term!

    Our amazing Year 4 class have been all around the world this half term, learning about all the countries and continents across the globe. They have looked at the different climates and compared all the similarities and differences between them. Brilliant job Year 4!

  • Computing in Year 5

    After working really hard on their biographies of Michael Jordan, Year 5 spent the morning in our Computer Room typing their individual pieces up. Using Word, they have learned how to format their writing and present it like true authors. Well done Year 5!

  • The St Bernard’s Buddies Lead the Little Ones

    Today our Year 6 Buddies led a beautiful assembly welcoming our Nursery and Reception children into our school family. They presented their little friend with a special gift and led prayers and songs in their honour. Lovely to see parents and carers joining us for this wonderful celebration of the ‘old’ and the ‘new’!

  • Great Work in Black History Week

    Following on from Year 3’s brilliant assembly, we have seen some wonderful work celebrating Black History Week. From our Early Years children learning about the amazing musical contribution made by Bob Marley to our Year 4 children using the iPads to research the life of the very first British black bus driver, Joseph Clough - we have seen some fantastic, mature contributions in class. Well done everyone!

  • Year 1 and 2 Make Maths Fun

  • Celebrating Black History Week

    To support our work in Black History Week, Year 3 led us in a beautiful assembly exploring cultural diversity. Delivered with great maturity, our Year 3 class helped everyone in school to see that all our many differences are good and make our school family an exciting thing to belong to. Well done Year 3!
