Today saw the final stage of our part in the anchor’s journey as our fabulous Faith Team took it on to its next location at St Cuthbert’s RC Primary School. We enjoyed a special liturgy together and then a celebratory feast - all in matching jumpers. It was such a pleasure to be with more wonderful young people proving they are ambassadors of our faith.

  • School & Parish Anchored in Faith……

    Sun 05 Oct 2025 C. Breeze

Another fantastic step in our Pilgrims of Hope journey today as our pupil leaders led mass for the whole parish in honour of the Jubilee Anchor and all that it represents. Parishioners, parents & carers then came in to school for tea, biscuits and a tour around all the wonderful artwork completed by all of our children. Thank you so much to all the children, staff, parents, carers and parishioners for joining us - another very proud day for the St Bernard’s family.

  • St Bernard’s & The Barlow RC High School, United As Pilgrims of Hope

    Fri 03 Oct 2025 C. Breeze

Today was a magnificent day as the Pilgrims of Hope anchor, which has travelled from school to school across the Salford Diocese, was brought to us by The Barlow RC High School. Delivered to us in the most spectacular way, on a steam engine, our two schools enjoyed a special liturgy focused on how we are all anchored in faith.  Singing a special song, written by Fr Luke, we all praised God and reflected on how we can bring hope to the world.

We look forward to seeing all of you at church at 10am on Sunday 5th October for the next stage of our Pilgrims of Hope journey. You are all invited into school after mass to enjoy refreshments and view the beautiful anchor art work that all of our children have produced.

A big thank you to the children and staff of The Barlow and well done to our Faith Team for leading our liturgy and hosting afternoon tea for our special guests.
