Week beginning 14th November

Anti-Bullying Week - I am so proud of how mature, understanding and respectful our children have been in relation to Anti-Bullying Week discussions. At St. Bernards, we fully promote equality regardless of our differences and as God's children, we pride ourselves on treating everybody as equals. Our assigned class focus this year was Homophobia and here is a sample of the WONDERFUL posters created by our class - Well done Year 6 and thank you for your efforts in promoting this message!

Science - Forces - We had great fun investigating the difference between weight and mass, using Newton Meters with a plastic bag to measure the weight of various objects (eg apple, book, tennis ball). FYI weight, measured in Newtons (N), is how hard gravity is pulling the object down.

As part of our WW2 History unit, we studied the Dunkirk Evacuation and considered whether it was a success, given that 68,000 soldiers lost their lives. Following a very interesting and informative class discussion, we used drama to re-enact the plight of the Allied forces.
