Week beginning 6th February
Another busy Monday! We have been practising our speed sounds and reading sentences. We used our voice as an instrument to make noises thinking about how we can change the volume. We had a great time keeping fit in PE and we finished the day listening to a story called 'The Invisible String' linking to our work on mental health this week.
As part of our people who help us topic, we had a special visit today from nurse Victoria. She talked to us about her job, working in the neonatal unit. She told us how she looks after the very new tiny babies and the children asked her lots of fantastic questions! Well done children.
Today we talked some more about children's mental health week. We sung one of our class favourite songs called 'Put your records on' by Corinne Bailey Rae, using our bodies to play the instruments. We listened to the story 'The Invisible String' again and decorated hearts thinking about all the people who are important to us and we even took part in a meditation session.
As part of Children’s mental health week, took park in a live workshop with the author of Sophie says it’s ok not to be ok. We listened to the story read by her and then listened to a song that taught the children it’s ok if they don’t always feel happy. We talked about how we could make others and ourselves feel happy. We also took part in a breathing workshop that taught us breathing excercises to to help us feel calmer and happier.
