Week beginning 2nd October

Science

This week in Science, we carried out an investigation to find out which type of beak is better adapted to pick up different types of seeds. We wondered whether the size and shape of a bird's beak affects their ability to obtain food. We selected different shaped objects from the equipment available to represent beaks, and tried to pick up different types of seeds.

English

This week we have been looking at different types of poetry.

We enjoyed writing our own Antonym Diamante poems based on the feelings of the old man when the bird that had visited his Tin Forest didn't return. We used dictionaries and thesauruses to choose appropriate vocabulary to use in our poems.
