Week beginning 6th November

Following our whole school, two minute silence in the hall to commemorate the soldiers, our class went over church to pay our respects. The children had brought in the names of some family members who had served in World War II and they wrote their names on to a heart which they placed into the Remebrance box. Subsequently, our class had some quiet reflection time while each child lit a candle in their honour. We also took time to remember other loved ones who had also passed.

Our class did an excellent job of leading this week’s mass on the feast of the dedication of the Lateran Basilica, where we heard how all of us are God’s building and that the Spirit of God lives among us. The children were excited to see a couple of new faces with Father Joseph, as he was joined by two very important Italian priests, Superior General Father Antonio and Vicar General Father Davide, who were visiting from Rome.

To celebrate Luke's upcoming ordination, our amazingly talented Year 6 pupil, Kobi Marsden-Umebuani, drew this wonderful picture of an ordination ceremony. Our equally wonderful EYFS children added to it with their self-portraits. I'm sure Luke was thrilled with this very thoughtful and personalised gift.
