Storytelling Week

This week we celebrated storytelling week with a range of activities.

We read inside, outside and in lots of unusual plces - Can you guess where we are in the following pictures?

We shared stories with the youngest children in the school and we made them story spoons and shoebox theatres.

We explored all the different ways you can tell a story from oral history to puppet theatre.

We connected live to the author Wendy Shearer who told us all about writing stories and answered our questions.

On our final day of storytelling week we received an invite to a storytelling 'Space Picnic' in Year 1 with extra special treats. Thank you!

St Bernard's Church

During our Mission topic we have been discussing those who inspire us within our parish and diocese. We have also been comparing the Christian faiths in our area and talking about the importance of unity.

This week we took a closer look at our beautiful St Bernard's Church. We looked at everything from the sanctuary candle to the organ and lit a candle for our special intentions.

A highlight was singing from the organ gallery and listening to the fabulous acoustics.
