Phonics screening check
After the half term holiday, the year one children will take part in the Phonics Screening Check.
The Year 1 phonics screening check is not a formal test, but a way for teachers to ensure that children are making sufficient progress with their phonics skills to read words and that they are on track to become fluent readers who can enjoy reading for pleasure and for learning. The children will read 40 words; 20 real words and 20 pseudo words.

Things to Remember
PE: We have PE on Monday and Thursday. Please make sure that you have your PE kit in school. PE kit consists of a plain white T-shirt, blue or black shorts and black PE pumps. During the cold weather children can wear plain dark coloured jogging pants to keep them warm when doing outdoor PE.
Please bring a water bottle to school with you everyday.
