Environment Day at The Barlow

Year 5 visited The Barlow High School and took part in Environment Day.
In DT we designed our own pizzas from leftover food to reduce food waste. In Geography we looked at oceans and plastic waste and discussed how we can reduce our plastic usage. In Art we linocut and printed our own original fish designs. In RE we looked at Laudato Si, planned our own liturgy and came together at the end of the day with other schools to celebrate and sing together (Year 5 led the auditorium in actions and song).

Other highlights included having lunch in the canteen and meeting the Gift team.

A great day - Thanks to The Barlow.

St Peter and Paul’s Feast Day

On Thursday we celebrated St Peter and Paul’s Feast Day with a school mass. We talked about St Peter being the rock of the church and all the children in the school being living stones who build a loving community.
Father Michael showed us the church’s foundation stone - it was built in 1957.

In our RE lessons this week we explored the scripture, deepened our understanding of the apostles St Peter and St Paul and applied the fruits of the Holy Spirit to our own lives.
