Week beginning 9th October

To commemorate Black History Month, our class have been reading Hidden Figures which is a fantastic book about the plight of four inspirational African-American women who worked as 'Computers' and helped NASA to launch men into space, despite the discrimination of their time. The children have been fascinated by their story and next week they will be writing a letter to King Charles, asking him to put Katherine Johnson on his upcoming Honours list. As a prelude to their persuasive letters, the children had great fun playing a persuasion game where they had to roll the dice to generate a persuasive argument and then try to persuade the rest of their group to agree with their viewpoint.

Each day during October, we are praying a decade of the Rosary with our chosen intention being the cost of living crisis.
