Governors
Governors
At St Bernard’s, our Governing Body plays a crucial role in making sure every child receives an excellent education in a caring, Catholic environment. Working closely with the Headteacher and staff, Governors provide support, guidance, and oversight to help the school flourish.
What the Governors Do
- Set the Vision and Strategic Direction
Governors ensure the school’s mission and priorities reflect our Catholic values and the guidance of the Diocese of Salford. - Monitor School Performance
They review the quality of teaching, learning, and pupil progress to ensure the school is delivering high standards of education. - Oversee Financial Management
Governors make sure school resources are used responsibly to benefit all pupils. - Ensure Compliance
They ensure the school meets statutory requirements in safeguarding, health and safety, and education law. - Approve and Review Policies
Policies that guide the school’s work are approved by Governors, implemented by staff, and reviewed regularly to remain current and effective. - Engage with the School Community
Governors maintain strong links with parents, carers, the parish, and local partners to ensure the school meets the needs of all its pupils.
Through their dedication, the Governing Body helps maintain the Catholic ethos of our school, ensuring that children grow academically, spiritually, and personally in a safe, nurturing, and faith-filled environment.
