Relationships and Health Education (RHE) Curriculum Intent

At St Bernard’s, our RHE curriculum teaches that every child is created and loved by God. Following the Life to the Full programme and rooted in Catholic teaching, pupils learn about themselves, relationships and community through age-appropriate lessons that promote dignity, respect and love. The curriculum develops emotional literacy, empathy and personal responsibility, helping children understand how to form healthy relationships and make wise choices. By the end of primary school, pupils know that they are unique, valued and called to live out their faith through kindness, fairness and care for others.

Ultimately, our RHE curriculum nurtures hearts as well as minds—helping pupils grow in wisdom, self-respect and love for others, so that they may live life to the full.
