This Week in Year 6

We began the week with an engaging performance and workshop from Altru, which focused on the importance of staying safe online. We enjoyed watching and taking part in the performance, which explored real-life scenarios linked to internet use. During the workshop, we discussed the importance of having enough sleep, the dangers of talking to strangers online, and the need to report any concerns to a trusted adult. These important reminders will help us to make safe and responsible choices in our daily lives.

In Maths, we have been developing our understanding of prime numbers and learning how to identify them. We also explored the concept of squared numbers and practised multiplying by two-, three- and four-digit numbers to strengthen our calculation strategies.

In English, we have been drafting our own narratives set in original settings. We focused on incorporating a range of figurative language techniques, such as similes, metaphors and personification, to enhance the quality and impact of our writing.

We have worked with great focus and enthusiasm and are proud of our achievements this week.
