Week beginning 15th September 2025

Over the weekend, Ava tried out our Roman homework baking task and very kindly brought a batch of freshly-made honey cakes in for us to try (some of us even 'tried' more than one, oops!). Suffice to say, they were absolutely delicious. Well done Ava! (and mum) we all really enjoyed them and you've inspired us to get our aprons on too! More homework efforts to follow, over this half term...

In English, we have been reading more of our Roman Invasion book and produced missing person posters for our lead character, Bran, who has been captured. We have also been learning about the Romans building wide roads and forts.

As we continue to commemorate our Pilgrims of Hope theme, we recalled the bible story of David and Goliath, symbolising how David's faith and trust in God led to his victory. The children then drew pictures of David and Goliath before pressing their designs into sheets of styrofoam, which they will utimately use to create a print in the style of Andy Warhol's pop art.
