Week beginning 29th September

We welcomed our final group of new Nursery starters this week and the current Nursery and Reception are doing a brilliant job of making them feel welcome.

We had lots of fun in the Autumn sunshine at forest school.

It’s a very exciting week this week as we prepare to receive the Anchor of Pilgrims of Hope anchor on Friday. In preparation, we have made and decorated our own anchors of hope.

We had lots of fun in PE in this week

Sensory play outside.

We’ve been learning how God created the world and everything in it and today we talked about stewardship and what things we can do to look after God’s wonderful world. Some children even gave a fantastic example when they found a worm outside and very carefully looked after it and put it in a safe place near our mud kitchen!

Today we learnt that October is the month of the Rosary. We are learning to sign and sing the Hail Mary.

In our Caritas lesson this week, we learnt we are all different but all beautiful and that Jesus loves all of us. We explored pictures of Jesus with children and discussed how kind and gentle he looked in the pictures.

The children were so excited when we heard a steam train whistling and we were told there was one outside of school. We were even more excited to go and see it and then receive the Pilgrims of Hope anchor in our classroom.
