This week was filled with meaningful activities and thoughtful discussions in Year 5.

Odd socks day - A day where you can get away with wearing odd socks. We decorated and wore odd socks in support of Anti-Bullying Week, celebrating individuality and kindness. In Year 5, we stand up to bullies as we are one big family and we all look out for each other.

We also created a ‘Kindness wall’. Each child had a brick and wrote one small thing they could do to show kindness. We also discussed how anti-bullying isn't just for a week, it's for every week in the year!

On Tuesday, we took part in a special Remembrance Assembly. The children showed great respect as we observed a two-minute silence to honour those who fought for our country.

We also had a morning with Michael Rosen. The children couldn't stop laughing with Micheal Rosen and his chocolate cake and hot food story. They decided to copy Micheal's sound effects all day. What a fantastic morning. The children then made their own silly sentences inspired by Micheal. They did a really good job.

On Friday, we learned about Children in Need and wrote postcards reflecting on the different ways we can help and support others.

Well done, Year 5, for your enthusiasm and participation in all of these important events!
