A busy and exciting start to Year 5!

Even though it has been a short week, Year 5 have been busy and engaged. All children have settled in well and have enjoyed a successful start to the year.

We were honoured with the task of creating a display for Mary’s birthday. Year 5 wrote thoughtful prayers thanking Mary for her love and guidance, and children crafted roses as a symbol of Mary’s beauty and devotion.

The children have also explored their positive qualities and goals for the year ahead. The phoenix birds and ladder worksheets were beautifully completed, showing their readiness and determination for the year.

As part of our creative writing work, the children designed their own imaginary worlds. They considered landscapes, water features, mountains, forests, villages, castles and even gave their worlds unique names. The creativity and imagination were truly impressive and showed their creative minds.

In addition, the class took part in a fun team building challenge - planning and constructing towers out of spaghetti and marshmallows. The children showed excellent teamwork, problem solving and perseverance as they tried to build the tallest and strongest tower.

Overall, Year 5 have demonstrated enthusiasm, creativity and a fantastic attitude to learning. We are very proud of their achievements already and look forward to an exciting year ahead.
