Protected Characteristics 

Our class created a tree for the protected characteristic 'Race'.

Children discussed the importance of race equality. We celebrated the diversity of our classroom. It was interesting to hear about everyone's experience of different cultures and we all agreed it's great to be unique. Heritage and where we come from is really important to us all in Year 5. Zoom into the tree and see what we wrote on our leaves. 

Maths Dimensions and Chocolate

Our class donated lots of chocolate for our Easter raffle and during our Maths lesson on dimensions we used an Easter egg as a measurement and discussion point. Everyone enjoyed making an estimate on how many eggs it would take to cross the playground.
