Computing Curriculum Intent
At St Bernard’s, our Computing curriculum equips pupils to use technology confidently, safely, and creatively. Recognising that many pupils have limited access to technology, we focus on practical learning, digital responsibility, and explicit teaching of computing vocabulary. Our sequenced curriculum develops computational thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy through hands-on programming, content creation, and online safety. Pupils learn to communicate ideas effectively using digital tools and to act responsibly as online citizens. By the end of primary school, every child can use technology with confidence, creativity, and care—ready for the digital future.
Ultimately, our Computing curriculum ensures every child becomes a confident, safe, and creative digital learner, equipped with the knowledge and curiosity to participate meaningfully in the digital world.
