Week 3
This week in Science, Year 6 had fun experimenting with balloons and static electricity!
We discovered that when you rub a balloon on your hair, it becomes charged with static electricity. This happens because tiny particles called electrons move from your hair to the balloon, giving it a negative charge. The first time, the balloon stuck really well because the charge was strong. The second time, it didn’t stick as much because some of the charge had already worn off. It was a fantastic way to see how invisible forces, like electricity, are always at work around us!
