Week 3

This week in Year 6 maths, we learned about percentages, which means out of 100. We explored how percentages are linked to fractions and decimals.

  • To convert a fraction to a percentage, we make the denominator 100

Example: 1/4 does not show that it is out of 100 however once converted= 25/100 = 25%
  • To convert a percentage to a decimal, we divide by 100

    Example: 25% = 0.25

The children practised these skills using a range of examples and explained their reasoning clearly- I am extremely proud of their efforts this week. Well done Year 6K.

A massive well done to Lucina's efforts this week!
