Week 4

On Wednesday, we progressed our sewing unit by attaching our appliques using a combination of running and cross stitch. The children have done a fantastic job and they're coming together nicely! We then had a fun guided reading lesson. Our novel at the moment is 'The Boy at the back of the class'. We've recently found out that Ahmed is a refugee from Syria so the main character went on an adventure with their mum to find him a pomegranate to make Ahmed feel more welcome at school, To give the children some real life context, we brought a pomegranate into class and the children had a wonderful time looking at and tasting one before using their senses to create some lovely creative sentences to compare to the books description. On Friday, we had a calm, child led collective worship where the children had some quiet time with God.
