Week 7
This Week in Year 6K
As you are aware, our science unit this term is Electricity. After learning about how electrical circuits work, we had the chance to build our own! The children used wires, batteries, bulbs, and switches to create complete circuits and test their ideas.
For the investigative part, the class made predictions about what might happen to the brightness of the bulb when different components were changed. Some predicted the bulb would get brighter, while a few even wondered if it might blow up! They then tested their predictions carefully, recorded their results, and discussed what they discovered.
Everyone showed fantastic curiosity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills throughout the investigation. Well done, Year 6K.
In the words of one of our students, “That's how you do it!”
Look at our results!
We were honoured to welcome Paralympian Michael Sturms to our school for a special assembly that left a lasting impact on students and staff alike. Michael shared his incredible journey as an athlete, overcoming challenges and representing determination, resilience, and the power of a positive mindset.
One message that stood out was his simple but powerful advice:
"Always do your best."
Michael reminded us that success is about putting in your best effort, no matter the situation. His story inspired everyone in the room to believe in themselves and to keep pushing forward, even when things get tough.
As part of this event, we’re also raising funds to support our school sports provision. Please remember to bring in your sponsor forms to help us continue improving our sports equipment and opportunities for all students.
A huge thank you to Michael for inspiring us all to keep active, aim high, and always do our best!
