This week, in Music, the children learned how to play a walking bass line often used in rock and roll music. First, they had to listen to a piece of music and walk around the room, moving up and down as the pitches went up and down, which helped them to ‘feel’ the music. With several attempts and lots of turn-taking, we proved that practise really does make 'almost' perfect. However, timing the videos to start after the countdown proved a little more tricky...

In our English lessons - linking into our Romans history unit - we have been reading 'Roman Invasion' by Jim Eldridge. The story is set in Celtic Britain (84AD) and features a main character named Bran, who is prince of the Carvetii tribe (Celts) and a self-confessed warrior. After reading the chapter where Bran is captured by the Romans, taking him hostage, we went outdoors and acted out the battle scene.
