This week’ English is based on a story called Can’t you Sleep Little Bear?. We even have our own bear cave in the classroom.
We had another successful stay and play this week.
Today we had a lovely surprise when we woke to find snow on the ground. It didn’t last long, but we made the most of it.
Nursery are exploring numicon pieces in maths this week and after their maths session, they were keen to explore more!
We’re becoming experts at brushing our teeth now.
Linked to our discussion about the dark from our story this week -Can’t you sleep little bear, we have been learning about nocturnal animals. The Reception children drew and labelled their favourite and nursery drew theirs.
In RE, we’ve been talking about what welcome means. Today we talked about what we do when we welcome a new baby into our families. Reception took part in a sorting activity talking about what a new baby needs and doesn’t need. The children were fabulous at it.
Linked to our story, today we talked about the night time and what things give us light. We explored different sources of light and how shadows are made.
