Week beginning 20th October

We made hedgehogs in forest school today by hammering nails into a wooden slice and then adding eyes and brown spikes. Lots of fun was had by all!

As part of Black History Month, we have been learning about Floella Benjamin and we read her story ComIng to England. We learnt that she wasn’t treated very nicely by people when she arrived all that time ago. We have been talking about how we’re all different but all beautiful and celebrating our differences in class. We talked about treating everyone with love and respect. We even collaged a picture of Floella Benjamin. Did you know she was one of the first people to appear on TV wearing beads in her hair?

Nursery are enjoying their English unit on Pete the cat. We saw some wonderful play dough models of Pete today and some reception children even wrote their own speech bubbles.

We enjoyed hearing about Bernie’s adventures at the weekend when he attended a dance competition!

We’ve got some budding artists in EYFS who have been making fantastic observational drawings of some autumnal vegetables.

In maths, Reception have had lots of fun been learning that numbers are made up of smaller numbers.

Rewards morning was so much fun! We made biscuits and took part in a dance session! We also filled our class donut jar so we’re having doughnuts for golden time treat this afternoon! A wonderful end to a fabulous first half term!
