Week beginning 7th October
Black History Week - We have been learning about a number of inspirational people from the UK. In groups, the children used QR codes to access information on the iPads about one of six different figures and then completed a jigsaw wheel of their contributions and noteable life events. In addition, we studied the first British black bus driver, Joseph Clough and learned how he was born in Jamaica and moved over to the UK to work for a doctor in London. Despite discrimination in the early 1900s, they became great friends and Joseph is remembered for being an extremely polite man who respected everyone, regardless of how they treated him.
