Week beginning 8th September

We started our week by having collective worship where we learnt about St Carlos Acutis. We then also talked about today being a special day as it is Mary’s birthday. We then made some birthday cards for Mary and placed them on our altar.

We loved hearing all about Bernie’s adventures when he visited one of our classmates house last weekend! What fun he had!

Today we had our first forest school lesson of the new school year! We had a lovely time making some musical instrument made from sticks and bells.

Our autumn table is already looking rather full of all of the autumn things we’ve found around school or brought in from home.

We continue to work on the importance of being a good friend and the children are certainly showing us how wonderfully kind they can be to each other both inside and outside the classroom.

This week Reception have been learning about sorting objects in different ways.

Some children have been sorting independently in the classroom.

Today the children met a character from our new story we’re starting in English. They enjoyed introducing themselves to him.

This week we have been learning about our class saint -Mother Cabrini who was a missionary who set up many hospitals and orphanages in America and Europe. We learnt that as a little girl she used to make paper boats and fill them with violets. We made our own junk modelling boats and made our own violets to go inside.
