We are a vibrant, caring and faith-filled community where every child is known, loved and valued. Rooted in our Catholic mission, “Believe, Grow, Succeed,” we strive to help every child become the person God created them to be — confident, compassionate, and ready to make a positive difference in the world.

At St Bernard’s, we believe that every day matters. Coming to school regularly and on time helps our children to learn, to build friendships, and to grow in faith and confidence. We work closely with families to make sure every child feels happy, safe and supported in their learning. Our approach is always support first — we listen carefully, remove barriers, and celebrate every step of progress together.

Our broad and ambitious curriculum is designed to ignite curiosity and develop the whole child — academically, spiritually, socially and emotionally. From the early years onwards, we nurture a love of learning through creativity, problem-solving and reflection. Guided by the teachings of Jesus and the principles of Caritas in Action, our children learn to serve others, act with kindness, and live out Gospel values in their daily lives.

We take great pride in the warmth of our community — our dedicated staff, supportive governors, and engaged families all work together to create a place of belonging where children truly flourish. Every day, we see our pupils living out our mission: believing in themselves and in God’s love, growing in knowledge and character, and succeeding through effort, resilience and joy.

Our Catholic faith provides all of us with the foundation to experience school life as ambassadors for Christ, fulfilling the mission of the Catholic church whilst embracing our brothers and sisters from all the other faiths living in the vibrant community of St Bernard.

Our patron saint, St Bernard, teaches us to pray, to work hard and to devote our lives to others and our children know this to be 'The St Bernard's Way'. Through what we believe, we show our intent to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to make a positive contribution to the world around us.  We grow together in our faith as the implementation of our rich and varied curriculum provides the opportunity to learn and discover in many different ways.  Our children want to succeed and are always encouraged to see the impact, big and small, of the efforts that they make, both in the classroom, in their play times and in the wider community.
