Welcome to Year 5!

We are delighted to welcome you to Year 5, taught by Mr Greenwood and supported by Mr McKerney and Ms Ahmed. All staff are excited to begin an amazing year of learning and growth together.

Important Information

• PE Days: Tuesdays and Fridays – please ensure children bring suitable footwear.
• Daily Essentials: A water bottle and coat should be brought to school every day.
• Reading: Children are encouraged to read for at least 5-10 minutes daily. The ideal time is before bed.
• Spellings: Regular practice at home is expected to support progress in class. This is valuable for improving your child’s reading and writing skills.
• Homework: Each week, children should complete one activity from the Homework Grid. They can choose from English, Maths, RE, Science or History. These tasks are linked to our Autumn 1 Curriculum.
