A Truly Beautiful Holy Week
Wed 16 Apr 2025This week, we have brought a close to all of our busy curriculum work, pausing our lessons and making our school quiet & peaceful to walk with Jesus on His Passiontide journey. We have celebrated Palm Sunday, broken bread at The Last Supper, prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane and fallen silent for the crucifixion. We have waved palms, made Easter cards, walked through conscience alley and re-enacted the walk to Calvary through The Stations of the Cross. A beautiful week, shared with our parents and carers, devoted to Our Lord. We are all feeling very proud to be part of the St Bernard’s family.

As a treat for good behaviour, best efforts and a super attitude we had a morning of fun with Mr Shaw leading our newest addition to our sporting menu - Lacrosse, and our friends at Fifth Movement leading us in Dance, Karate and Tag Rugby. We even found a little extra time to make some gorgeous chocolate Easter nests to share. A brilliant day ……well worth working hard for!

Expressing Our Emotions Through Art
Wed 09 Apr 2025We have been working hard across our school to develop our understanding of the Zones of Regulation. This work, aimed at supporting the emotional and mental health of all the children and adults in school is providing an opportunity for all of us to firstly learn how to identify how we feel and then take useful steps towards self regulation, finding that place of calm and readiness. Our brilliant Year 3s have used their latest Art project, focused on the work of Andy Goldsworthy, to depict their feelings using natural materials from our forest school. Brilliant work that has definitely put us all in the green zone!
