  • Our Colleague, Our Teacher, Our Friend …..Ms Cummings ❤️

    Tue 24 Feb 2026 C. Breeze

Today has been spent honouring our beautiful colleague and friend, Ms Cummings. With staff old and new coming together to remember this special lady who brought so much to the community of St Bernard’s, we have reflected on the joy and kindness that she always managed to spread. Our older children greeted the funeral procession with colourful ribbon wands whilst a number of the team attended her funeral with family and friends. We then gathered together in prayer and remembrance before completing different craft projects in Ms Cummings’ honour. Once parents and carers had come into school to see all the lovely craft work, the staff came together for a gluten free tea party and time to reminisce about the wonderful times we’ve all shared with her. A beautiful day for a beautiful lady. With all our love, rest in peace Sue …….and keep smiling on your St Bernard’s family 💐.

  • Children’s Mental Health Week

    Fri 13 Feb 2026 C. Breeze

We have had a wonderful end to this half term celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week. Each class has read a brand new book that has helped them to think about their feelings, their worries and what we can all do to acknowledge the many emotions that we all experience. Every class listened to three specially selected songs as well and decided which one they felt they connected with the most. A brilliant job done by everyone!

We’ve had a great day today; our fantastic  master chefs, Ms Winter & Ms Fay cooked us all an amazing feast. All of our classes ate together in the hall, listening to Christmas songs, wearing our Christmas clothes and were served by our brilliant Y5 school leaders and our wonderful sports coaches. A huge thank you to Ms Winter & Ms Fay and everyone who helped to make this a great St Bernard’s celebration 🎄.

  • Meet the Alpacas!

    Tue 09 Dec 2025 C. Breeze

So …..after all my strange dreams about alpacas …….look what happened today!!!! We’ve had a very special visit from two gorgeous alpacas! As a Christmas treat, they have travelled all the way to St Bernard’s for some furry fun. The children stroked them and fed them and asked lots of great questions about what kind of life they have. All children will now do a piece of writing about this and I can’t wait to read what everyone produces.

At the end of this term our Year 1/2 class will be going to Aviva Studios to see Shaun the Sheep’s Circus Extravaganza and as part of our preparation, some of the stars of the show came to spend the day with us. There was lots of fun and laughter right throughout the day …..with some tricky circus skills taught along the way. Well done Yr1/2!
